Long ago, perhaps a century or so ago – brilliant crystal and glass doorknobs with mirrored centers were standard issue in all new construction. Some of the more rare knobs have turned from crystal clear to various colors – a happy unplanned accident. Rather than use trace amounts of lead to clarify the glass, some manufacturers found it less expensive to use Manganese or Selenium. The result – when exposed to sunlight over many decades, the Manganese caused the glass doorknobs to turn purple while Selenium caused them to turn Amber.
What was once common is a rare find today. The hand crafted doorknobs were build with solid brass shanks and made to last for a century of service. From bungalows to Victorians – these glass doorknobs were standard issue. These glass and crystal doorknobs are still made today – with solid brass shanks and can be retrofit to fit old and new doors alike. In fact, tubular latches can be used with these wonderful glass knobs and mount directly into most any door.
Today – these glass doorknobs in clear, amber or violet - they are once again back in style. The choices are endless – there are many different styles of doorknobs – coupled with many different styles of backplates. Just take your pick from any of these glass knobs – you cannot go wrong.
You can find these wonderful colored glass and crystal doorknobs today – available online. LookInTheAttic & Company has expert advice on installation and choosing the right doorknob set for you. They have glass doorknob sets in most any configuration and can help you choose what works the best for your home.

Make Sure You Buy the Right Type of Light Bulbs
Not all light bulbs are created equal. Some are designed for brightness, others not so much. Some are intended to enhance the look of your fixture, while still others are content to be merely being functional. Either way, it’s imperative to use the correct bulb for your lighting needs.

Q&A:
Question by Nikole: What personality do you think this character has?
I know there’s some references to things that you won’t understand since this excerpt is taken from nearly halfway through the story, so sorry for that.
But just from this, what kind of person does Oliver come off to be?
Thanks!
“You’re new, too?” Oliver asked me as we walked.
“What?” I asked irritably.
“Well, they obviously you don’t have much authority…I just thought it must be because you haven’t been around here long.”
“Shut up.”
I saw him crack a grin out of the corner of my eye.
“What makes you so bold all of the sudden?” I asked harshly. “You were nothing short of pathetic ten minutes ago.”
“Uh…what would you have done if those guys had ran out and drug you up here like a wild animal and then handcuffed you to a chair?”
“I wouldn’t have been rampaging through the woods like you were in the first place.”
He shrugged as he opened the door and ushered me in to continue the conversation. “Maybe it was the drugs effecting me.”
“So, you don’t know anything that you knew before you were drugged?”
“I know facts and stuff, like where I live, what year it is, how to read…stuff like that,” he said as he motioned for me to take a seat beside him on the bed. “Just nothing about me or who I was.”
“If you don’t know who you are, then how do you know your name?”
He dug into the pocket of his dirty, holey jeans to retrieve a tattered piece of laminated paper. “I had a name tag on when I woke up,” he explained as he handed to me, “It was pinned to my shirt.”
I stared at ID tag blankly before finally handing it back to Oliver.
“What’s your name?” he asked me suddenly.
“I’m Cadence.”
“…Malone?”
“Yeah.”
“Like…betrothed to the prince? That Cadence Malone?”
“Yes.”
“Well that’s a plot twist if I ever heard one.”
“I think I’m going to go back to bed,” I said flatly as I stood to leave.
“I didn’t mean it in a bad way,” he said quickly. “I mean, that’s a good thing, right? You being against the royal family? Because they’re all a bunch of douches and stuff.”
“I think a faulty batch of those drugs must have found it’s way to you…” I said as I turned the doorknob.
“You mean you don’t think I’m gonna turn into a troll or anything?” he asked hopefully.
“I mean it must have messed up the wrong part of your brain.”
“Ouch,” he said just before I shut the door on him.
